Quintum’s Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server Delivers Intelligent Management of Next-Generation Voice Networks
QoS-based and least-cost routing controls ensure optimum efficiency and maximum return on infrastructure investments
Eatontown, NJ, February 5th, 2003
Quintum Technologies, a leading VoIP innovator, today announced the availability of its new Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server, a unique solution for intelligently managing call routing through the increasingly complex IP-based voice networks being deployed by today’s service providers. With the Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server, service providers can improve profitability, operational efficiency and quality of their VoIP services – thereby maximizing their investments in VoIP network infrastructure.
The Quintum Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server provides next-generation service providers, ISPs and carriers with scalable centralized network routing management, flexible policy enforcement controls, and streamlined administration. It provides a complete range of routing management options, including:
- QoS-based routing that automatically routes calls around any portions of the network that are not supporting acceptable QoS characteristics, thereby assuring voice quality.
- Least-cost routing to help optimize operating margins based on termination costs, time-of-day and other cost factors.
- Source-based routing to support carrier and IP local access services.
Other operative routing criteria can include best pattern match, circuit routing, domain priority, and load balancing.
The Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server also compiles comprehensive network routing statistics and generates practical, customizable routing reports that enable network and business managers alike to assess the effectiveness of VoIP services. The server also provides real-time alerts based on user-defined thresholds and robust access control to maintain network security.
Quintum’s new routing solution works with its award-winning Tenor series of VoIP MultiPath Switches and is applicable to a full range of VoIP applications, including long-distance backhaul, wholesale VoIP termination, IP local loop, calling card services, and call center outsourcing.
The Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server supports up to 720K Busy Hour Call Attempts, and provides simplified management from an intuitive, Web-based GUI. Multiple servers may be distributed within the voice network for even greater capacity and can operate in a redundant configuration. Routing modifications are immediately reflected throughout the entire voice network without the need for routing modification on individual gateways.
“Service providers require increasingly sophisticated route control capabilities as their networks grow in size and complexity and as they use their networks to support a wider range of VoIP applications,” said Charles Rutledge, VP of marketing at Quintum. “Quintum’s new Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server meets this pressing need, providing our service provider customers with the intelligence, flexibility and scalability they need to make their investments in VoIP infrastructure pay off.”
Quintum’s Advanced VoIP Call Routing Server is available as of February, 2003 and has a starting suggested list price of $15,000.
